Employment Law | Redundancy Settlement | Legal Advice
DO YOU NEED LEGAL ADVICE IN RELATION TO A REDUNDANCY SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT OFFERED BY YOUR EMPLOYER?
In these uncertain times, many employees are finding themselves facing redundancy. Employers will often ask employees to sign a settlement agreement, usually in exchange for an enhanced redundancy payment. The agreement will discharge any claims the employee might have against the employer.
In order for those agreements to be legally binding, the employee must take independent legal advice. The employer must contribute towards their legal fees, and they usually offer to pay a figure that will cover them in full.
The Employment Law Team at Ennova Law in Edinburgh are able to provide appropriate legal advice and sign the required certificate to confirm that that advice has been given. Usually all that is needed is around a one hour meeting or telephone call to go through the background and to advise you on the terms of the agreement. Our fee is sent direct to your employer.
We can also advise on settlement agreements in situations where you are leaving your employment for a reason other than redundancy.
